DHAKA: Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain said, like sleepless guards, journalists are playing their roles with social commitment in question of responsibility to fulfill people’s rights to know and media’s job to disclose information.

The Chief Justice made the comments while addressing as chief guest at a workshop on Wednesday (Sep 26).

The workshop titled “Legal Aid and Law Journalism” was organized at the conference room of Supreme Court main building.

CJ Mahmud Hossain said, “Journalism is a great profession and important task. The role of media and journalism is as clear as daylight in building a beautiful society and eradicating discrepancies. Journalists are playing their role as sleepless watchmen in doing so.”

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Bar Council Vice Chairman Yusuf Hossain Humayun, Supreme Court Bar Association President Zainul Abedin among other lawyers spoke at the program presided by Chairman of the Supreme Court Legal Aid Committee and High Court Division Justice M Enayetur Rahim.
