HC asks Khoka’s son, daughter to surrender in 4 weeks Sadeque Hossain Khoka and his son Ishrak Hossen

DHAKA: The High Court asked the son and daughter of former Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka to surrender before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court within four weeks in the same case in which their father was jailed for ten years.

An HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafijul Alam gave the order after hearing a petition asking for anticipatory bail on Thursday (November 29).

Barrister Azmalul Hossain stood for Ishrak Hossen and Sarika Sadeq while lawyer Khurshid Alam Khan stood for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and deputy attorney general AKM Amin Uddin Manik represented the state.

“The court ordered them to surrender before CMM court within 4 weeks. However, if they apply for bail after surrender, then the court also asked them to settle the petition under the law,” said Khurshid Alam Khan.

On Thursday (November 29), a Dhaka court sentenced 10 year’s imprisonment to the vice-chairman of BNP Sadeque Hossain Khoka and three others for their involvement in corruption over Banani Super market car parking lease.

ACC filed the case on February 15 in 2012 against the four persons, accusing them of misappropriating Tk 26 lakh from the public fund and adding a loss of another Tk 11 lakh to it.
