CUMILLA: A Cumilla court on Monday (January 7) deferred until January 16 the hearing on charge-framing in a murder case filed against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in 2015.
Additional District and Session’s Judge Habibur Rahman in Cumilla also fixed the date to hear a bail petition filed by the BNP chief.
Public Prosecutor of the court Mostafizur Rahman Liton confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
According to case statement, eight people were killed and several others injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chauddagram upazila of Comilla district during the BNP-led alliance’s movement on February 3 in 2015.
Nuruzzaman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Chauddagram Police Station, filed the case against 77 people, including the BNP Chairperson, in this connection.
