DHAKA: The High Court directed all the district and sessions judge courts to dispose of all the criminal cases pending for more than ten years.

The court also directed to submit the list of those cases to the Supreme Court registrar general. 

The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman issued the order on Tuesday (February 26) while hearing a bail petition in a criminal case filed in 2007.

Lawyer ATM Mizanur Rahman moved for the convict, who was identified as Shariful, while Deputy Attorney General Farhad Ahmed and Assistant Attorney General Yusuf Mahbub Morshed stood for the state

Later, Assistant Attorney General Yusuf Mahbub Morshed said, “The court granted Shariful interim bail. Besides, all sessions courts were directed to dispose trials of all criminal cases within six months.”
