Don't write 'fake' before freedom fighters: HC

DHAKA: The High Court directed authorities concerned to not use the word 'fake' or 'bhuya' in Bangla before 'freedom fighter' to describe the persons registered as freedom fighters using forged certificates.

The HC bench of Justice FRM Nazmul Ahasan and Justice KM Kamrul Kader issued the order upon hearing of a writ petition over freedom fighters' certificate Tuesday (May 14).

Deputy Attorney General ABM Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar confirmed the matter to media.

All including the government officials and media workers have been asked to not write the word 'fake' before freedom fighters.

If the order gets breached and the greatest souls of the nation get dishonored, the court might summon the accused, ABM Abdullah Al Mahmud Bashar told reporters.
