SYLHET: Sylhet district administration conducted drive and fined 32 illegally run travel agencies in the city Tuesday (May 14).

The travel agencies were fined Tk 10,000 each and a person was detained.

Executive Magistrate Ashraful Alam led the drive and handed over the punishment. 

On Monday (May 13), 24 travel agencies in the city were fined and eight persons were awarded jail sentence on charge of various irregularities.  

The drives will be continued, said Association of Travel Agency Bangladesh (ATAB)- Sylhet President Abdul Jabber Jalil.
