KURIGRAM: A Kurigram court sent Nageshwari Municipality Mayor Abdur Rahman Mia to jail in a case filed over embezzling state money.

Nageshwari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rowshan Kabir confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Acting District Judge Ashiqul Islam issued the order after the mayor had appeared before Kurigram District and Sessions Judge Court Wednesday (May 22).

Sources from the court said that Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed the case accusing Mayor Abdur Rahman of embezzling tax money collected from the upazila health complex.
