DHAKA: Suspended Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Feni's Sonagazi Police Station Moazzem Hossain filed an appeal with the High Court seeking bail in advance in a case filed over leaking the reordered version deposition of slain madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi.   

Dhaka Cyber Tribunal issued the arrest warrant against him on May 27.

Moazzem filed the plea with the court on Wednesday, said sources.

The state and Advocate Syed Sayyedul Huq Sumon have been made defendants.

On Wednesday, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has pressed charges against 16 people in the case filed over killing Feni madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi by setting her afire.

Moazzem Hossain was earlier suspended and withdrawn from Sonagazi Police Station and adjusted to Rangpur Range after he was proved neglecting duty in the incident of setting Nusrat afire.

Sources from the Police Headquarters earlier said four policemen from Feni including a Superintendent of Police (SP) have been adjusted to other areas, as part of departmental action.
