CHATTOGRAM: A truck driver was jailed for six years on charge of driving recklessly resulting in a crash killing seven persons in Jorarganj of the port city nearly four years ago. 

Convict Mostakin Hossain is a resident of Naogaon sadar upazila.

Chattogram Senior Judicial Magistrate Kowshik Ahmed Khandaker issued the order Tuesday (June 11).

Mostakin was handed over the jail term in two counts of crime.

The court's bench assistant Md Mamunur Rashid confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Seven persons were killed as a recklessly driven truck overturned in Sonarpahar area in Jorarganj of Chattogram at early hours of October 11, 2015.

One Md Elahi lodged a case with Jorarganj Police Station over the accident.

Police arrested the truck driver Md Mostakin Hossain on November 25 in the same year.
