DHAKA: The High Court summoned a physician of Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RMCH) over the medical report prepared for a rape victim.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Md Mostafizur Rahman issued the order during the bail hearing of an accused in the rape case.
Lawyer Moniruzzaman Rana moved for the accused while Assistant Attorney General Yusuf Mahmud Morshed moved for the state, at the courtroom.
RMCH lecturer Dr Soheli Sultana was ordered to appear before the court on July 10 to explain the reasons for delaying in the report delivery.
A 15-year-old girl was gang-raped in Haragach area of Rangpur on February 28. Her mother accused four persons in a case filed on March 2. Two persons were arrested the next day.
The physician issued the victim's health report on April 1.
One of the accused, Shakerul Islam, claimed in the bail plea that no evidence of rape was found in the medical report.
The court then asked the investigation officer of the case to appear before the court with the report Tuesday.
