DHAKA: The father of road crash victim Barishal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Traffic sergeant Golam Kibria filed a writ with the High Court seeking Tk 10 crore compensation. 

The HC bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam will hear the petition Sunday (July 28).

Kibria died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on July 16 after sustaining critical injuries when a covered-van hit him on Barishal-Patuakhali Highway the previous day. 

The van was seized and its driver was detained, said police.
