FARIDPUR: A Faridpur court gave death penalty to five persons for killing a man namely Jahidul Kha.

Judge Md. Selim Miah of district and sessions judge’s court of Faridpur delivered the verdict in presence of four convicts out of five on Sunday (September 29).

The five death-raw convicts were-- Akash, 18, son of Ismail Sheikh of Dhuldi Rajapur village of Faridpur Sadar upazila, Saiful Sheikh, 27, son of Kamal Sheikh of the same village, Hasem Sheikh, 35, son of Kitaab Ali, Zahid Kha, 28, son of Shoba Khan, and Jewel Bepari, 32, son of late Alim Beppari.  

According to the case statement, Jahidul Kha, who was from West Gangabodi village under Krishnanagar union of Faridpur Kotwali Police Station, was gambling along with his associates on December 21 of 2014. A friction erupted over winning and losing of the game. At a heated moment, his five associates stabbed him with sharp weapons and left the place. He was admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital, but he died during the treatment.
