DHAKA: A Dhaka Metropolitan court placed Kalabagan Krira Chakra Club President and also central leader of Krishak League Shafiqul Alam Feroz in three days of remand.
A Dhaka Metropolitan magistrate Abu Sufuian Md. Noman on Sunday (October 6) granted three days of remand after Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-2)’s investigation officer also the sub inspector Jasim Uddin produced him before the court with a 10-day remand prayer for further investigation of the drug-related case.
Earlier on September 21, another Dhaka Metropolitan Court’s magistrate Mahmuda Akther issued the remand order for five days in each case filed under arms and narcotics control acts.
RAB filed the two cases with Dhanmondi police station on September 21.
RAB detained Feroz and his four associates from a club in Dhaka and seized a firearm, bullets and yaba tablets during a drive launched on September 20.
Later, Lt Col Ashique Billah, commanding officer of the Rab-2, said a revolver, three bullets, 100-150 yaba pills, three cartons of playing cards and some score cards for gambling were found during the raid.
