SUNAMGANJ:  The mercilessly-murdered five-year-old child Tuhin’s mother filed a case against some unidentified men with Derai Police Station on Monday night (October 14).

“Tuhin’s mother Monira Begum filed the case on Monday night,” Assistant Superintend of Police (ASP) of Sunamganj Mizanur Rahman told Banglanews on Tuesday (October 15).

“Besides, seven detained men were sent to Sunamganj court for interrogation. They were—Tuhin’s uncle Abdul Masabbir, Jamshed Mia, Nasir Mia, Zakirul, Tuhin's father Abdul Basir, Khairunnesa and Tuhin’s cousin Tania,” ASP also said.

A press briefing will be held at SP’s office on progress of investigation in the afternoon.

Tuhin was found dangling from a tree of his house at Kejaura village under Rajanagar union of the upazila on Monday morning (October 14), with dismembered ear, genital and the throat.

Police believe Tuhin’s family members are involved in the murder.

According to ASP, after the incident, family members claimed they knew nothing about the murder. Detective Branch of police and Criminal Investigation Department (CID) visited the spot. All samples were collected. Seven members of Tuhin’s family were called to Derai Police Station. They were interrogated for a long time. In the evening, a few of them gave implications of involvement in the murder. It is assumed the murder was staged to trap the rivals. Further investigation will reveal everything. No more could be said now for the sake of investigation.

Two knives were found thrust into the belly of the child bearing names of two local men on the handles. ASP, in this regard, said: “Who wrote the names will also be investigated.”

According to family sources, 5-year-old Tuhin was seen missing in his bed deep at night, but the door of his room left open. After an exhausted search in the neighborhood, he was found in the morning. Some unknown miscreants killed him at night, leaving behind two knives thrust into his belly.

Baser Miah, father of the deceased, said: “I don’t know who took my son away at night and why killed him so mercilessly. I’m just a farmer and don’t have such enmity with anyone.”
