BARGUNA: A Barguna court gave life-term imprisonment to a man for raping his daughter in the district in 2017.

Hafijur Rahman, judge of Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal, on Tuesday (October 29) also fined him Tk 20,000 each, in default, to suffer six months more in jail.

According to case statement, Jewel Pyada mixed drug (for sexual arousal) with an energy drink and fed her. Later, he raped her in an unconscious state on May 5 of 2017.

Abdul Hamid Kazi, grandfather of the victim, filed a case with police station under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

Advocate Shraful Alam stood for the state while advocate Humayun Kabir stood for the accused.
