DHAKA: Four death-row-convicts in Sonagazi madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case, filed separate appeals with the High Court.
Court on Monday (Dec 02) challenging the lower court verdict.
The four convicts are SM Siraj Uddoula, Umme Sultana Popi, Md Nur Uddin and Jabed Hossain, their lawyer Jamiul Haque Foysal told the journalists.
Earlier on October 29, the lower court case documents reached the High Court as death reference.
On October 24, Judge Mamunur Rashid of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal sentenced 16 people to death, in the case filed over the murder of Nusrat.
On April 6, Nusrat was set on fire — 10 days after her family filed the case at Sonagazi police station against SM Sirajuddaula, the then principal of Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa, for sexually harassing her.
With 80% burns on her body, Nusrat succumbed to her injuries at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on April 10.
