DHAKA: A Dhaka court directed police to publish an advertisement in newspapers in order to produce the four fugitives before court in the BUET student Abrar Fahad murder case.
Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Kaisarul Islam of Dhaka court passed the order on Sunday (January 5) after fixing January 13 for submitting report in this regard.
General Registration Officer (GRO) of Chawkbazar Police Station and Deputy Inspector General of Police Madhurul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
The four fugitives were--Morsheduzzaman Jishan, Ehtashamul Rabbi Tanim, Morshed Amartya Islam and Mostaba Rafid.
Detective Branch (DB) inspector and also the investigation officer of the case Md Wahiduzzaman submitted the charge sheet to the court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Kairsarul Islam on Wednesday (Nov 13).
Abrar Fahad, aged 21, a student of electrical and electronic engineering department at BUET(Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology), was tortured to death reportedly by BCL leaders of BUET unit at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university on October 7 of 2019.
Abrar's father filed a murder case against 19 people with Chawkbazar police station on the day of the murder.
