DHAKA: A Dhaka court has fixed January 21 to take Fahad murder case into cognizance and receive charge sheet thereof in presence of the accused.
The hearing will be held at a court of Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court on that day, Taposh Kumar Paul, a lawyer on behalf of the state, told media on Wednesday (January 15).
Earlier on January 12, Additional Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Md. Kaisarul Islam ordered to transfer the case to a Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court for trial. On that day, the case was transferred after finishing all the necessary formalities. Also, the court fixed today (Wednesday) to receive charge sheet.
Abrar Fahad, aged 21, a student of electrical and electronic engineering department at BUET(Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology), was tortured to death reportedly by BCL leaders of BUET unit at Sher-e-Bangla Hall of the university on October 7 of 2019.
Abrar's father filed a murder case against 19 people with Chawkbazar police station on the day of the murder.
