BARGUNA: A Barguna court has fixed January 26 hear a petition filed seeking its order to cancel bail to Ayesha Siddiqa Minni granted by High Court in a case filed over the murder of her husband Rifat Sharif.
Minni’s lawyer Mahbubul Bari Aslam submitted a statement, in response to a show-cause notice demanding reasons why Minni’s bail would not be canceled, to a Barguna District and Sessions Judge Court on Wednesday (January 15).
The court also completed testimony of three witnesses in the case on the same day.
Three witnesses are as follows: - Manjurul Alam John, Zakaria Babu and Anwar Hossain. With this, testimony of ten witnesses against the adult accused in the case has been completed.
Mahbubul Bari Aslam told Banglanews: “I have submitted a statement in response to the notice. The court fixed January 26 for hearing on the show-cause response.”
22-year-old Rifat Sharif, from Barguna sadar upazila, was hacked to death indiscriminately by Minni's alleged former husband Nayan Bond and his aides in broad daylight in front of Barguna Government College on June 26 of 2019.
A shocking video of the brutal attack went viral on the social media, sparking widespread outrage and demand for justice from the countrymen.
Ayesha Siddiqa Minni was arrested for her alleged involvement in the murder as well for the sake of proper investigation of the case. Later, she secured bail from High Court.
