The Election Commission (EC) will deploy 16 to 18 members of law enforcement agencies in voting centres to ensure peaceful Gaibandha-5 by-polls.
However, some 16 to 17 members will be deployed in general centres while some 17 to 18 members will be deployed for the risky centres.
EC joint secretary SM Asaduzzaman revealed this information on Monday (January 2).
He said that the police, Ansar and village police will be deployed at the polling stations for the next four days before and after the polls.
Besides, six mobile and four striking forces of Police, APBN and Battalion Ansar will be at the polling ground. On the other hand, four platoons of BGB and nine teams of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) will be responsible for maintaining law and order, he added.
