DHAKA: A writ petition was filed with the High Court seeking its direction to dissolve the Jatiya Sangsad before announcement of 10th parliament elections’ schedule.

Supreme Court lawyer Dr M Yunus Ali Akand filed the writ on Sunday morning.

After filing the writ, he said, “Prime Minister will advise to the President to dissolve the parliament before announcement of elections schedule. So, I filed the writ with the High Court seeking its direction about this.”

In the writ, prime minister, speaker, chief election commissioner, cabinet secretary and law secretary were made the defendants.
