Hafez Kamrul Alom received state honour for leading the Taraweeh prayer in the month of Ramadan at Masjid Al-Inara of Fuvahmulah City in Maldives.

Later, Bangladeshi Hafez Kamrul Alom received the Appreciation Award from Fuvahmulah City Council.

When asked about receiving an invitation to lead Taraweeh prayers in Maldives, Hafez Kamrul Alom said, "After watching one of my Quran recitation video on YouTube, they contacted me through a government mosque committee of the Maldives, expatriate Bangladeshis. 

"Later, they invited me for Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan at Masjid Al-Inara in Fuvahmula City, Maldives. After accepting the invitation, Masjid Committee sends special visa slip along with air ticket. After reaching there, I lead the first Taraweeh prayer at the Grand Masjid in Hulhumale as a special guest. After that, I lead the entire Ramadan Taraweeh prayers consecutively at Masjid Al-Inara in Fuvahmulah City," said Hafez Alom.

Hafez Kamrul Alom follows the recitation of the Imam of the Holy Haramain Sharif, Sheikh Abdur Rahman As Sudais. Even his recitation is very similar. Because of this, he became more popular.

Hafez Kamrul Alom is the second child of Mahbubur Rahman and Shaheda Begum of Hasampur village of Balaganj police station in Sylhet Division. 

Hafez Kamrul Alom After finishing primary school, he joined madrasa. After Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examination, he completed the Hifzul Qur'an within two years of his hardship.
