A youth drowned in flood water in Amirabad area of Chattogram's Lohagara upazila on Tuesday (August 8).

The deceased, Junayedul Islam Jarif, 22, was a student of BCG Trust University. 

Lohagara police station officer in charge Md. Rashedul Islam confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

He said Jarif drowned in the floodwaters while attempting to relocate to a safer area along with his family members around 2am on Tuesday. 

His body was finally recovered after 13 hours, around 3:30pm today, he said.
