Two people were killed as a truck hit their motorcycle at Baraigram upazila in Natore district on Wednesday (August 30) night.

The deceased were identified as Monon, 22, and Abir Hossain, 22, residents of the upazila.

According to locals, a truck hit a motorcycle from the opposite direction on the Pabna-Natore highway in Gorimati area around 9:30 pm, leaving the two motorcyclists dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies and seized the truck, said Bonpara Highway Police Station OC Alimul Islam.

The truck driver and his helper managed to escape the scene, he said, adding police, however, are in action to nab them.

Legal steps in this regard are under process, the OC added.
