A total of 232 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) forces were deployed across the country, including 28 in Dhaka and adjacent districts, to maintain law and order situation.

BGB Public Relations Officer Shariful Islam confirmed the matter on Wednesday (November 22). 

Besides, an adequate number of BGB personnel were kept on standby to promptly respond to any emergency in the country.

On the sixth round of blockade enforced by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its allies started on Wednesday, 204 BGB platoons were deployed outside Dhaka to avoid any untoward incidents.

The party has announced a series of hartals and blockades since their October 28 rally was foiled.
