DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad sent a letter to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina just a day after 10th parliamentary polls.

JP senior leadership confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Sources said Ershad sent the letter with an urge to give chance his brother GM Quader to contest in by-poll in Rangpur-6 constituency where the premier secured victory with huge vote.

In the 10th parliamentary election, Sheikh Hasina elected from two constituencies: Gopalganj- 3 and Rangpur-6. As per rules, she has to leave one seat and by-election will be held there.

When queried about taking part in the new government or will be main opposition, sources denied making any comment.
