13 more Myanmar BGP personnel take refuge in Bangladesh

Thirteen more members of the Myanmar Border Guard Police (BGP) entered Bangladesh through the Teknaf border of Cox's Bazar on Thursday to take refuge amid the ongoing conflict between the Myanmar security forces and the rebel Arakan Army (AA).

Shariful Islam, public relations officer (PRO) of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) confirmed the matter. 

He said the BGP members entered through the Naf River and surrendered to the Bangladesh Coast Guard at Teknaf station. 

Later, the Coast Guard handed them over to the Naikhongchhari Battalion of the Border Guard of Bangladesh (11 BGB).

With this, the number of BGP men taking refuge in Bangladesh stood at 274.
