CHITTAGONG: Seven houses were torched allegedly by miscreants in Dhemsha union under Satkania upazila of the district early Friday.

The arson attack took place at 2:00am.

On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and doused the fire after two and half an hour efforts.

In the meantime, houses of Amol Das, Nirmol Das, Sumit Das, Amor Das, Narayan Das, Haradhan Das and Dipok Das were gutted.

Fire service and Civil Defense station officer Md Shahadat told banglanews that the extent of loss from the fire was around TK 4 lakhs.  The reason of the fire could not be confirmed. We are investigating to find out the origin of fire.”
