DHAKA: Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu categorically said that the printing press of the Daily Inqilab was shut temporarily as they violated ICT Act publishing rumor and fake news saying BSF joined in joint forces drive in Satkhira.

He came up with the observation in reply to the query of journalists in the emergency meeting of JSD at Colonel Taher Auditorium in the capital on Friday.

Inu said: “We are looking into the matter of Inqilab whether they have published the news to spoil the bilateral relations between Bangladesh and India.”

He also alleged that the baseless report of Inqilab had created unrest and made the joint forces controversial.

The meeting was also attended, among others, by Sharif Nurul Ambia, Mainuddin Khan Badal and Nazmul Haque Pradhan.
