The police members who lost their jobs during the regimes of the Sheikh Hasina-led government, staged demonstrations in front of the Police Headquarters in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon, demanding to instate them.

The inspector general of police (IGP), senior officers, and others could not come out of the headquarters due to the demonstrations.

At one point, the IGP called a delegation to talk to him.

A six-member delegation met the police chief in the evening, said a policeman, while others sat on the road in front of it and were chanting slogans to press home their demand.

They said their jobs must be returned by an executive order.

The demonstrations continued till the filing of the report at 7:30pm.
