A Dhaka court today (November 19) sentenced three people to death in a case lodged over the abduction and murder of Mirpur Bangla College student Nurul Amin in 2022.
The convicts are Md Ariful Islam, Md Imran Hossain and Md Yamin Mollah.
Judge Masud Karim of Dhaka Speedy Trial Tribunal-3 passed the judgment in the presence of Ariful and Imran.
Yamin, who was still at large after coming out of jail on bail, was tried in absentia.
The court Tuesday also issued an arrest warrant against him.
Nurul Amin Topu went missing and his uncle filed a general diary regarding this with Darus Salam Police Station on January 2, 2022.
After that, the abductors called him and demanded Taka one crore in ransom.
Earlier on January 4, Detective Branch (DB) managed to detain three abductors.
In primary interrogation, they confessed abducting and later killing Topu in Imran's Mirpur Beribadh house.
Later, the three killers gave confessional statements at the court also.
