Former police chief Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun and former director general of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Centre (NTMC) Major General (retd) Ziaul Ahsan, among eight officials, will be produced before the tribunal today (Nov 20) on charges of crimes against humanity committed during the July-August uprising.
A three-member tribunal, headed by the Chairman of the tribunal Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumdar, will hear their case.
Others who are being produced are former superintendent of Dhak police Md Abdullah Al Kafi, former Jatrabari police station OC Abul Hasan, former additional superintendent (Savar Circle) Md Shahidur Islam, former DC (Mirpur) Md Jasim Uddin Mollah, former OC of Gulshan Thana Md Mazharul Haque, and former inspector of Detective Branch of police Md Arafat Hossain.
On September 4, police arrested Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun from Uttara area in the capital.
Ziaul Ahsan was shown arrested on October 16 this year in a case filed with New Market Police Station over plotting to abduct and murder of Col (retd) Md Tauhidul Islam Chowdhury in December 2018.
