Two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident on the Bhurungamari-Kurigram highway in the side of Joymonirhat Shahid Samad Technical College under Bhurungamari upazila of the district in the early hours on Friday (December 6). 

Bhurungamari police station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monirul Islam confirmed the matter. 

The deceased were Rashidul Islam, 37, son of Abdul Gafur, hailed from Bhurungamari Sadar Union and Kamal Hossain Khokon, 40, son of Abul Fazal Sarker, hailed from Boldia union of the upazila. 

The accident occurred near Joymonirhat Shahid Samad Technical College around 2am when they were returning home from Rangpur last night on a motorcycle. Rashidul died on the spot.

It was not known how the accident occurred, OC said.
