SC helpline receives 1,000 calls in 3-month

Supreme Court Helpline has received 1,003 calls over the last three months regarding legal advice, case-related information, and complaints.

The court administration reported this on Wednesday (January 1).

On September 26, 2024, the helpline was launched under the directive of Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed, aims to assist service seekers facing difficulties in obtaining services from Supreme Court registry branches.

Out of the total calls received, 604 were for legal advice, while 344 sought case-related information. All inquiries were addressed immediately.

Additionally, 55 complaints were lodged regarding irregularities, bribery, negligence, delayed services, and misconduct. Among these, 22 complaints concerned delayed legal services, which have been resolved. Complaints against district court judges, 12, High Court officials, 3, district court staff, 12, and lawyers, 6, were also received. Necessary legal actions have been taken to address these issues.

The helpline operates via phone or WhatsApp at +8801316154216. Service seekers can call Sunday to Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, except on public holidays, for assistance or to report service-related obstacles.
