Nahid Islam, the Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, has resigned from the interim government's advisory council.
He announced his resignation on Tuesday (Feb 25) afternoon after an informal meeting of the advisory council at the state guesthouse Jamuna.
There had been speculation for some time that he might step down, as he is set to become the convener of a new political party, which will be launched on Friday under the leadership of young politicians.
