A Dhaka court today issued arrest warrants for Qcoom's Chairman Md Ayub Ali and Managing Director Md Ripon Miah in a fraud case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Joshita Islam passed the order.
The warrants were issued after the accused failed to appear for the scheduled hearing, as confirmed by the complainant's lawyer, Sakibul Islam.
The case was filed by Mehedi Hasan Foysal, owner of 3S Corporation BD, who had placed an order worth Tk 82.44 lakh during Qcoom's "Big Billion Returns" campaign on June 27, 2021.
The products were supposed to be delivered within 21 to 25 working days but were never received.
Foysal filed the case on August 13, 2024, leading to an investigation by the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), which found the allegations to be true.
The court accepted the PBI's report on January 28 and had summoned the accused to appear today.
