Syed Manzur Elahi, 83, chairman of Apex Group, has passed away. He died at Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore at 9:31 AM (Singapore time) today. 

Elahi's son Syed Nasim Manzur confirmed the matter to the media. 

Elahi had been unwell due to old age. 

He was the founding chairman and current chairman of Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB). 

A key figure in Bangladesh's business community, Elahi earned numerous accolades, including "Business Executive of the Year 2000" from the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), Bangladesh, and "Business Person of the Year 2002."

In addition to his business achievements, Elahi served as an Adviser to Bangladesh’s Caretaker Government on two occasions (1996 and 2001).
