Dhaka ranked third among cities with the worst air quality worldwide, recording an AQI score of 184 at 9 AM on Tuesday, classifying its air as "unhealthy."
India’s Delhi topped the list with an AQI of 299, followed by Senegal’s Dakar at 225.
According to the air quality index (AQI), scores between 151-200 are considered unhealthy, while 201-300 is "very unhealthy," and 301-400 is "hazardous."
Dhaka has long struggled with air pollution, with air quality worsening in winter and improving during the monsoon.
The AQI in Bangladesh measures pollutants including PM10, PM2.5, NO2, CO, SO2, and ozone.
