DHAKA: The government has given approval the draft of metro-rail act-2014 in principle to develop the county’s rail sector. 

The approval came from a regular cabinet meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League, in the chair on Monday.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan was talking to journalists.

He said the cabinet approved the draft, which has special provisions in regarding land acquisition as of Bangabandhu Bridge and Padma Bridge projects.

Besides, the cabinet also approved drafts of government vehicle act (use control)-2014 and Investment Corporation of Bangladesh Act-2014.
