DHAKA: Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju on Wednesday said the government moved to use Bangladesh Navy for planting huge number of trees in coastal areas.

The initiative came after an order from Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina with a view to preventing the natural disaster.

The minister made the disclosure when US-based environment speaker Joan Potter of   ICF International’s Impact and Adaptation Climate Change and Sustainability Principal, called on him at the secretariat in the city.

During the meeting, Anwar urged the donor countries and organization to move forward in such types of efforts.
