Sushma due in Dhaka Wednesday

DHAKA: Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj will visit Bangladesh on Wednesday after the formation of Modi government in India.

During the visit, Bangladesh is looking into two long-pending issues Teesta water sharing deal and Land Boundary Agreement (LBA). They would also discuss to uphold the rail communication increasing Maitree Express which plies on Dhaka-Kolkata route.

Sources said in the bilateral meeting, foreign minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swaraj would discuss about an agreement on internet export.

Loan from India, aid in Power sector, stopping border killing, four-nation economic corridor BCIM, Transit-Transshipment, among other topic, would be discussed in the meeting.  

During the visit, she will also call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and hand over Modi’s invitation letter for Delhi tour.  

The Indian external affairs minister will also have engagement with think tanks, chambers of commerce and industry and cultural organisations.
