DHAKA: Ahmedi Begum, elder sister of Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, passed away at Lab Aid Hospital in the capital on Saturday morning.

She was 71.

She breathed her last around 7:30am while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

All the employees of Bashundhara Group, the largest industrial conglomerates of the country, expressed their deep shock at the death of Ahmedi Begum and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

In a condolence message, Bashundhara Group senior deputy managing director Belayet Hossain conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
