CHITTAGONG: Railway services of Chittagong to the rest parts of the country has been resumed after a six and half-hour halt due to derailment of a container train on Wednesday noon.
Confirming the matter, Railway east zone’s General Manager (GM) Mojammel Haque told banglanews that the authority was able to restore the line around 1:20pm.
However, two derivers of the derailed freight train has been suspended following the accident happened near Fauzderhat railway station in Sitakunda upazila.
Moreover, two bodies have also been formed to investigate the incident.
Railway east zone’s General Manager (GM) Mojammel Haque said that the sacked persons are the driver of the train Uttam Kumar Bhattacharya and his assistant Didarul Alam.
Earlier in the morning, Rail communication of Chittagong with Dhaka and Sylhet came to a halt.
