NETROKONA: A district court awarded life-time imprisonment to three people in a murder case in the district on Wednesday.

The convicts are— Monoronjon Sarker alias Monu, 32, Sajit Sarkar, 20 and Dipendra Sarkar, 22.

Amongst them, Monu and Sajit are fugitive.

Justice Abdul Hamid of Additional Session Judge Court passed the order at around 11:30am on Wednesday.

The court also fined Tk 50,000 each. In default, the convicted have to serve five years jail term more.

The court sources said that on November 20, 2004, the victim Shafiqul Islam went out home at night to meet his beloved. Later, his body was found in Kumri village.

Following the killing incident, victim’s brother filed a murder case on November 21 and after investigation police submitted charge-sheet on October 11, 2005.

Additional Public Prosecutor Saiful Alam confirmed the matter to banglanews.
