SUNAMGANJ: A six-year-old girl drowned in a pond of Sunamganj Government College in the district on Sunday noon.

The deceased was identified as Tamanna Aktar Akhi, daughter of one Sohel Mia. 

Police said that the victim with her cousin was playing on the bank of the pond around 1:00pm. At one stage, both children fell into the pond and locals recovered one but Akhi remained missing.

Later, locals found the body after frantic search. 

Sunamganj Sadar Thana Sub-Inspector Abdur Razzak confirmed the matter to banglanews.
