MANAMA: A Bangladeshi worker was killed while he was working in a construction building in Jufer of Bahrain on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Alam Mia, 35, son of Asar Uddin of Bankari village of Manikganj district.

Witnesses and his fellow worker said a piece of brick fell on the head of Alam from the 8th floor while he was painting the 3rd floor of the building around 10:00am.

Secretary (Labour) of Bangladesh Embassy immediately visited the spot and assured to take the body back to Bangladesh.

Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Kingdom of Bahrain Major General K M Mominur Rahman told banglanews that they contacted with owner of the building. 

The company assured to provide compensation, he added.
