JHENAIDAH: Former Member of Parliament (MP) of Jhinaidah-1 constituency M Golam Mostafa passed away at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday night.
He was 63.
The freedom fighter breathed his last around 9:00pm at the hospital due to heart attack.
He suffered a heart attack around 2:00pm Sunday at his Mohammadpur residence in the city. Family members rushed him to DMCH where he died at 9:00pm.
He left behind wife, a son, four daughters and hosts of well wishers to mourn his death.
The former leader of Jatiyo Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) was the son of late Doinayet Mondol at Ratidanga village of Shaylakupa upazila of the district.
He served in the liberation war under sector 8 as chief of guerrilla force of Jessore region and was elected as MP in 1979 from the constituency.
He was the central leader of JSD and also served in Jatiya Party, GP, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh and so on.
The family sources said he will be buried at Nishcintopur in Rajendrapur area of Gazipur with state honor.
