RAJBARI: Two children drowned here in the river Padma at Char Ramnagar village under Habaspur union at Pansha upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased were identified as Setu, 7, daughter of Ainuddin and Safura, 8, daughter of Shukur Sheikh.

Sources said Setu and Safura were missing since after they went to take bath in the river around 12:00 noon.

Later, locals recovered their bodies from the Padma in the afternoon.

Habaspur Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Al Mamun Khan said that the incident brought deep shock among the people of the area.
