BSF detains Bangladeshi in Habiganj

HABIGANJ: Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members detained a Bangladeshi near Dharmaghar frontier under Madhabpur upazila Wednesday.

The detainee is Sohel, a farmer, son of Kamrul Hasan of Alinagar village of the same upazila.

Locals told banglanews that BSF members of Mohanpur camp in Tripura nabbed Sohel when he was working on his paddy field in the morning.

Confirming the matter, BGB 55 Battalion commanding officer Major Tarek said they had talked to BSF to bring the Bangladeshi back and the process was underway.

Meanwhile, villagers caught an Indian, identified as Rajkumar Sharma, 55, who entered Bangladesh territory illegally with smuggled cattle.

Major Tarek also confirmed the matter to banglanews.
