JESSORE: Two people were killed in a road accident on Jessore-Khulna highway in Padmabila area under Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased were identified as Shahin, 31, son of Abul Hossain and Ramjan Ali, 35, son of Makbul Ali. Both hailed from Narendrapur village of the upazila.

The accident took place around 11:30am when a speedy covered van ran over a motorcycle on the highway, killing the two motorcyclists on the spot.

On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Jessore Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.

Constable Ruhul Haque of Kotwail Thana, who was on-duty at the hospital morgue, confirmed the matter to banglanews.
